About This Site

This not-for-profit site was launched on 30 November 2003 and is a product of secondary research information the site's founder, Michael O'Brien, gathered from Sound City users and members of the Plexi Palace's Sound City forum, and of primary research that includes phone and email interviews he conducted with former employees of Dallas Arbiter and Dallas Music Industries (DMI). An enormous effort has been made to present all this information as accurately as possible.

Caution: perusing this site can lead to a severe condition called GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), which causes sufferers to do things similar to what is shown here: purchase every &%$!ing piece of Sound City gear they can lay their hands on! Special thanks to a GAS sufferer for the photo!!

Gratitude goes to the Plexi Palace, et al., for the use of the large and small Sound City logo JPEGs that appear throughout these pages. Thank you!
If you have any suggestions for additions, changes, corrections, or deletions, please contact the site's administrator.

Should you have Sound City-related information to share, such as this rare shot of a very young Rick Nielsen (far left) playing through a Sound City stack with his early Rockford, IL band Fuse, please feel to contact the site's administrator via one of this site's email links.

For a list of what the site still needs, see the page Need Your Help.

Finally, please note that what you send may very well be a duplication of information available elsewhere. If so, links to this external information will be provided. Please do not send photos without contacting the administrator first.
